Last night I went to the Carrillo Ballroom and was dancing the waltz with a new partner who was a beginning dancer. By using my arm movements and some instructions, I guided us through the steps and patterns of the dance. We each contributed equally to the successful outcome of the dance. As I reflected, I realized there are many similarities between having a good dance partner and having a good real estate agent.
As with partner dancing, selling a home involves people listening carefully to each other’s cues. When people communicate well and trust each other, magic can happen. The same is true between an agent and their client.
An agent’s job is to bring tailored options to their client, careful not to pressure them into a decision. An owner’s job is to be receptive to marketing ideas and be willing to pivot when necessary. Together we temper the choices of budget and timeline constraints. Then, we soon arrive at an acceptable route to the sale.
It is important to remember that marketing techniques are always changing. My goal as your agent is to create a marketing experience that will bring you great satisfaction and benefit everyone involved.
Connecting with other agents is like being aware of all the dancers on the floor. The more aware you are of others, the smoother you can move around. The same is true in real estate.
I am constantly making myself aware of how the market is moving through the “dance floor” of Santa Barbara’s real estate. I communicate with other agents to discuss their showings and the offers they receive on their listings. This way, my clients have the information necessary to make informed decisions that match the market’s movement.
Dancing and real estate require being fully present in each moment. If you want the expertise of a good real estate agent in your real estate journey, call me. As partners we will dance our way to a successful outcome.
Mesa Market Report
(May – June 2023)
Market Conditions July 2023
The housing market is picking up speed, but sellers are getting fewer offers compared to 2021. Some people who bought homes recently are now reselling them for less than what they paid.
It’s important to remember that location and condition still control the value when buying a house. It is especially hard when there is limited inventory because a buyer can feel pressured into purchasing when there are so few to choose from. Being patient will help you make the right decisions in this kind of market.
